Winners are announced in October yearly.

Thando Makhunga, 947 station manager said, “On behalf of all the presenters, producers and the entire team at Primedia, 947 would like to thank Joburg for this prestigious honour.”

For 20 years running Joburgers have chosen 947 as their best radio station.

The 947 Breakfast Club won best radio show. Meanwhile, Anele Mdoda bagged best radio personality of the year.

The show brings together a collaborative cast of different personalities who are bold and big hearted. They love to laugh and are impossible not to love.

Joburgers are welcome to be a part of the Breakfast Club from 06h00 to 09h00 weekdays for an epic wakeup call and feel-great start to the day. If they don’t wake you up, nothing will.

“As a radio station that has evolved and grown through the years from its journey as Highveld Stereo, to 94.7 Highveld Stereo and now 947 we are humbled by the unwavering support of the listeners in the city.”

“We are fortunate to be able entertain Joburg audiences with some of the top talent in the country including Anele Mdoda on the 947 Breakfast Club and most recent addition Fresh on 947.

We look forward to another unbelievable 20 year run of being the best local radio station in the city,” Makhunga concluded.
