 Mazibuko saddened by the passing of legend actor Sandy Mokwena

Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ms Faith Mazibuko, has expressed her sadness upon the devastating news of the passing of yet another South African celebrity. This time is Scandal famous actor Sandy Mokwena, known as Bra Eddie Khumalo on the soapie.  Sandy Mokwena died at the age of 68.

“It is turning out to be a very difficult week for South Africa’s entertainment industry, just two days ago, a musician icon passed on and today we wake up to the news that an acting legend has also passed on. Sandy Mokwena was a great person and best in what he used to do which is acting.  He contributed tremendously in the arts and culture industry through a career that was more than 20 years.”

“South Africa and the rest of the world has lost one of the greatest actor and entertainer. On behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government and its people we wish to extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to his family, the Scandal crew, arts and culture industry and those who loved him.May your soul rest in peace, we will always remember you for your talent and ambition”, says MEC Mazibuko.

Mokwena appeared in numerous other television series including Generations, Soul City, Okavango, Khululeka, Going Up, Yizo Yizo, Justice for All and Zero Tolerance.
