The Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Ms Faith Mazibuko has expressed sorrow at the passing of one of South Africa’s talented gospel stars, the 38 year old Lundi Tyamara.
Says MEC Mazibuko: “Once again death has robbed us a young life of one of the most talented musical artists in Lundi Tyamara. Just when tears where beginning to dry over the passing of the legendary mmeThandi Klassen and not so long ago Mandoza and Sfiso, the tragedy continues for the Creative Industry.
“It’s sad and heavy to continue burying our stars especially at a young age. These are people we need to inspire the nation and generations to come. Through his musical talent and message Lundi brought hope and strength to many. With his glowing smile he brought life and laughter to many others. He also brought the genius of both Rebecca Malope and the late Brenda Fassie into one.
“The gospel music community might have lost one of its prince but has surely gained a new guardian angel. He will always be missed and remembered. We’d like to convey our deepest and sincerest condolences to the Tyamara family, his friends and fans alike”, says MEC Mazibuko.
