Theatre lovers brace yourselves for a thrill as Word Of Mouth Pictures and Joburg Theatres are bringing internationally acclaimed Dance Company
, Forces Of Nature and Harlem Children’s Zone to your shores. Renowned choreographer, Abdel Salaam, will lead the productions.
The not-to-be-missed performance will take place on Wednesday, August 14 in an exclusive one-night-only Johannesburg performance at the Soweto Theatre.
They will then head off to Durban, where they will also stage a one-night performance at The Durban Playhouse on Saturday, August 17.
“Word of Mouth Pictures is proud to host such initiatives in promoting and educating about different cultural diversity, which is another dynamic factor that sets the production apart from other productions,” says Word of Mouth Pictures’ executive director and founder, Duma Ndlovu.
The performances are a result of Word Of Mouth’s cultural exchange program with Forces Of Nature, Harlem Children’s Zone and The Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Previously, Word Of Mouth Pictures took Ingoma, a group of 30 KwaZulu-Natal dancers, to the US where they performed during Dance Africa, an annual dance affair held in Brooklyn, New York.
Duma says the cultural exchange program empowers young people as they study and observe dance and music. He adds that one of the main aims is to see students becoming their country ambassadors through the creative industry.
