A not-to-be-missed weekend of top speakers and personalities; fragrance, fashion and entertainment
Women360 – a not-to-be-missed expo which helps women explore new avenues to enrich and enhance their lives – comes to Cape Town at the end of March. It will feature a diverse range of speakers and personalities from celebrity chef Siba Mtongana and entrepreneur Cindy Nell to current Miss South Africa Dr Adè van Heerden, social media law expert Emma Sadleir, radio and TV personality Anele Mdoda and former Miss World Rolene Strauss.
This experiential event takes place at Cape Town’s Grand West Casino and Entertainment World, Sun Park from Friday, March 16, to Sunday, March 18 and includes the official Miss South Africa regional competition.
The Women360 Expo will offer a diverse experience that is sure to entertain and empower women and men alike. From fashion to fragrance, health and nutrition, trends and tips, the latest aesthetics treatments and self-defence, the show has it covered. The stylish Oyster & Champagne Garden will offer fabulous food and entertainment from Sketchy Bongo and one of Mzansi’s most successful young female artists, DJ Zinhle.
The Women360 Expo kicks off at 16h00 on the Friday (March 16) with a fashion show where up-and-coming Western Cape designers will show off their collections as they vie for the opportunity to become part of the select group of designers who will dress Miss South Africa 2018 during her year of reign.
On the following day (Saturday, March 17), doors will open at 10h00 for an action-packed day of activities with the stage programme commencing at noon. Speakers focusing on health and wellness include biokineticist Letshego Zulu, who will be discussing fitness and healthy living, Dr Adè van Heerden (Miss SA 2018) on mental health, depression, eating disorders and anxiety and Mark Grobbelaar, creator of the acclaimed Women INPowered (WIP), will give a demonstration from his courses which empower women with tools to help them deal with life-threatening situations.
International celebrity chef Siba Mtongana will give an inspirational talk and share tips in making every day healthy food choices, while another speaker to look forward to is leading social media law expert, Emma Sadleir, who will point out the pitfalls of being online and how to protect yourself and be digitally savvy.
The Miss South Africa Organisation has set aside various workshops and Q&As, especially for those interested in entering Miss South Africa. Former title holder, philanthropist and business woman, Cindy Nell-Roberts, will share her journey and provide valuable insights into how she leveraged the opportunity of becoming Miss SA in 2002. Other experts include renowned pageant coach and Miss South Africa creative director Werner Wessels, who will reveal the innermost secrets and tricks of the trade, followed by a masterclass by catwalk queen Andiswa Manxiwa and a make-up demo by celebrity make-up artist Gina Myers.
The Miss South Africa Western Cape regional competition adjudication will take place on the Sunday (March 17) from 10h00, with pageant judges Bokang Montjane (Miss South Africa 2010), Gareth Flusk (Sun International and the Miss SA Organisation), radio and TV personality Anele Mdoda and Suzette van der Merwe (Miss South Africa, 1990 and the Miss SA Organisation). They will be joined by South African icon, Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss.
