Field set for BAL Zone VI Qualifiers with Cape Town Tigers announced as host

The stage is being set for the Basketball Africa League Zone VI qualification tournament with Johannesburg, South Africa announced as the destination for the upcoming edition of the event, set to take place from 18 – 25 October 2021.

The reigning South African club champions Cape Town Tigers qualified to play in the elite club competition by winning the SA Men’s National Club Championships.

The winners of the zonal qualifying tournament will move on to battle for glory in Africa’s richest and NBA Africa and FIBA Africa’s flagship club basketball competition- Basketball Africa League (BAL).

The Tigers who will represent South Africa in the zonal qualifiers will potentially be joined by the national champions of Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe amongst others.

The Tigers began their journey to the South African National Club Championship summit by qualifying through the provincial and coastal conference legs of the competition to book a spot in the National FINAL FOUR where they defeated perennial powerhouse Jozi Nuggets in the finals in Johannesburg to emerge South Africa’s Clubs Champs.
